Cancellation Policy

At Moku Motors Limited, we work closely with Japanese vehicle auctions, shipping providers, compliance centres, and third-party partners to source and deliver vehicles to New Zealand. Due to the nature of the import process, certain stages involve non-recoverable costs and commitments.

Before a Vehicle is Successfully Purchased

Customers may cancel their request at any time before a vehicle has been successfully secured at auction.

If a refundable bidding deposit has been paid and no vehicle has been purchased, the refundable portion of the deposit will be returned within a reasonable processing period, subject to any agreed administration or auction access fees.

After a Vehicle is Successfully Purchased

Once a vehicle has been successfully purchased or secured on behalf of the customer through a Japanese auction or supplier, cancellations are generally not permitted due to contractual obligations and costs already incurred.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Auction purchase commitments
  • Japan supplier charges
  • Inland transport costs
  • Shipping bookings
  • Compliance preparation costs
  • Currency conversion and banking charges
  • Administrative and sourcing costs

If a customer requests cancellation after purchase, Moku Motors Limited reserves the right to retain part or all amounts already paid to cover incurred expenses and losses.

Finance-Related Cancellations

Finance pre-approval does not guarantee final finance approval. Customers are responsible for understanding their financial obligations before confirming bidding or purchase instructions.

If finance is declined after a successful vehicle purchase, cancellation charges may still apply.

Delays and External Factors

Vehicle import timelines may be affected by circumstances outside the control of Moku Motors Limited, including shipping delays, port congestion, compliance processing times, regulatory requirements, weather conditions, and transport disruptions.

Such delays do not automatically qualify for cancellation rights.
